Quick answer: Kjun says the celebrity reveal previewed the artist career (solo act, group or band), that fame shouldn't be too easy, and that Evermont feedback, a hotfix and longer, resumable interactions are planned. These are plans, not shipped features.

Kjun has read through our feedback on the inZOI celebrity DLC, and I’m really happy with the message he’s taking away: fame should be more than idols and a number. He clarified that the reveal focused on the artist career, while ideas about earning fame and connecting it to everyday life fit the team’s direction.

That makes me excited, but I also want to separate what he actually said from what I’m hoping for. Between Evermont, planned simulation improvements, and a little development-build teaser, we have plenty to talk about.

My biggest takeaway is that Kjun is listening to how we want fame to feel, not just which careers we want.

Kjun read every reply — here's what he told us

Kjun says he read the feedback thread from beginning to end after the October 23 Brainstorm with Kjun revealed auditions, group formation, choreography, concerts, and Evermont. He also says the team continues following discussions across the forum, Discord, Reddit, and YouTube.

I love that he specifically thanked everyone for the reactions to the dances, music, and concerts. He’s passing those responses along to the animation and music teams. But alongside that excitement, he heard a clear message: “Fame should not only be about idols and it should not just be a number.”

I want the performances to look amazing, but I also want fame to change the story I’m playing.

Kjun opens his feedback post by thanking players for their reactions to the celebrity update reveal (video at 0:21).

Is the inZOI celebrity DLC only about idols and singers?

Kjun clarified that the preview showed the artist career. That includes forming a solo act, group, or band, performing on stage, and creating an artist life story. So, even within the music side, I’m not reading this as something limited to an idol group.

People have also asked about actors, models, influencers, solo artists, rock bands, and jazz singers. Kjun says they’ll share more about other activities in a future update. That isn’t a confirmed career list, but I do believe there will be more included than we’ve seen so far.

I’m treating the artist preview as our first look, not a complete list of everything the DLC will offer.

Kjun says Friday's reveal previewed the artist career, with other activities coming in a future update (video at 1:06).

Why I'm so happy fame won't be too easy

One concern I completely agree with is that becoming famous shouldn’t happen too easily. Kjun agrees, too. He says ideas such as starting in small bars or cafes, having skill affect performance, and letting crowds react to bad shows fit their direction well.

He also mentions rumors and rivalries, with the team reviewing how fame connects to personality, relationships, and daily life off stage. These are ideas they’re considering carefully, not a promise that every suggestion will become a finished feature.

I’m glad the direction is about earning fame, even though the individual systems still need more detail.

Personally, I love the idea of taking my Zoi from a little cafe performance to something much bigger. I don’t want to jump straight into a huge concert without feeling that journey. Kjun says he’ll explain more about a celebrity’s daily life next time, and that’s exactly what I want to hear about.

Evermont looks too flat — and yes, I want a beach

Kjun acknowledged feedback that Evermont looks too flat and too similar to Bliss Bay. Players want hills, beaches, and more nature. He also says they’ll continue improving crowd variety, including ages, outfits, and reactions.

Honestly, I initially thought some of the world footage was Canvas Town. Then I wondered whether we’d been looking at both Canvas Town and Evermont, because they looked similar to me. I like the different lots we’ve seen, but I understand why people want the city to feel more distinct.

I’m happy he acknowledged Evermont’s feedback, but that doesn’t confirm a terrain redesign or a beach.

And yes, I would love a beach. From what we’ve seen, Evermont doesn’t have one, and I think one would suit its aesthetic. I love having beaches in Bliss Bay and Cahaya; I even find myself wishing for one in Dowon.

They’re aiming for December, and my personal guess is toward the end of December. That isn’t a confirmed date. Hearing Kjun mention the feedback makes me hopeful they’re open to changes, but I don’t know what could change before release.

Will basic features get locked behind DLC?

Kjun says the goal is for base updates to be enjoyable on their own, with DLC adding extra depth. They’ll keep that balance in mind when planning future content. I’m glad he addressed it, even though this hasn’t been one of my biggest worries.

I want a strong everyday-life experience in the base game, with DLC adding something more specialized.

The free high school life update, ghost gameplay, and baby showers are why I’ve felt encouraged. High school is part of everyday life for younger Zoi, so I’m especially happy that wasn’t treated as a separate DLC experience.

Island Getaway makes sense to me as DLC because of its vacation focus, and I feel similarly about celebrity content. Some players want to choose whether celebrities are part of their game at all. I don’t want endless DLC dividing up basic life simulation, but I can understand this particular separation.

The hotfix list and the fundamentals Kjun wants to fix first

Kjun says they aren’t only looking at DLC ideas. They’ve also been reviewing bug reports, and they plan to deliver quick fixes through a hotfix first. Here’s what I noted:

  • The same textures downloaded from Canvas being stored and loaded more than once.
  • An on/off option for the camera-aligned light.
  • Portraits displaying incorrectly.
  • Some crash issues.

I’m excited about new content, but I want fixes for the problems affecting our games now, too.

He also repeated that animation and simulation depth should come before new features. The fundamentals he identified include:

  • Personalities that don’t show clearly in behavior.
  • Interactions with animations that are too short.
  • Objects floating or teleporting.
  • NPCs that never take initiative.
  • Loading screens when switching family members.

For me, these details matter across every storyline, celebrity or otherwise. A new career is much more engaging when the Zoi around mine behave like individuals. Kjun’s closing message was that they’ll fix current issues first and demonstrate the rest through actual results, which is the approach I want to see.

I’ll be watching how these plans improve ordinary play, not just how exciting the next preview looks.

Longer interactions that actually pick back up

To address short interactions, the team plans to make them last longer. Kjun says this will let them fine-tune autonomy around personality and traits, while still allowing us to cancel interactions at any time.

The part I really like is what happens after an interruption. If a Zoi stops for hunger or a bathroom break, the plan is for them to pick the interaction back up afterward. Okay, I like that a lot. Longer interactions sound much better when basic needs don’t permanently derail them.

Being able to resume an interrupted interaction is one of the plans I’m most interested in seeing in practice.

Kjun also acknowledged that modders are solving many pain points first. The team is watching and considering which features belong in the official game. I appreciate that recognition, although it isn’t a promise to adopt every modded solution.

On the cartoon filter, some players prefer the old version and others prefer the current one. They’re looking into a way to accommodate both preferences. I’d love that choice—and personally, I’d love a whole new set of filters—but that bigger filter collection is only my wish.

That development-build clip: are actors coming?

There was also a short clip shared on inZOI’s social accounts, labeled “captured in development build.” It showed “Ready for action,” characters with tasers, and then “looking the part.”

My immediate reaction was that they look like actors. That’s why I think there may be more to this DLC than the singing and performances we’ve already seen. Still, I wouldn’t turn that impression into a confirmed acting career or start assuming how auditions, sets, or acting jobs might work.

I think the teaser hints at acting, but it doesn’t explain or confirm a complete acting system.

What's confirmed and what's still just a plan

I’m separating Kjun’s description of the preview from his development plans and my own interpretations: an acknowledged suggestion isn’t a shipped feature, and my excitement doesn’t make a guess official.

Topic What Kjun said Status/my take
Artist career The preview covered solo acts, groups, bands, and stage performances. Described preview content, not proof it has shipped.
Other activities More will be shared in a future update. I’m hopeful, but there’s no complete career list here.
Earning fame Small venues, performance quality, rumors, and rivalries fit their direction. Ideas under review, not individually guaranteed mechanics.
Evermont He acknowledged requests for hills, beaches, and nature. I want a beach; he didn’t promise one.
Interactions They plan longer interactions, cancellation, and resuming after needs interruptions. Planned simulation improvements.
Cartoon filter They’re looking into accommodating both preferences. A choice is being explored; extra filters are my wish.

My plans: a Celebrity Life let's play

I already have plans for a let’s play built around this DLC. I’d love to follow a Zoi’s artist journey and give the new content room to shape the story. That kind of expansion-focused series sounds really fun to me.

“Celebrity Life” is just the name I’ve been imagining, though. I don’t know the official DLC name, so I’m not treating that as an announcement. I can simply picture how excited I’d be to start a series with that title.

I’m ready to plan a celebrity story, even while we wait for the official name and fuller feature details.

This is also why I appreciate the community discussions on Discord and elsewhere. We can share what matters to us, and Kjun’s response shows those conversations are being read. That doesn’t mean every request will happen, but it does make the feedback feel worthwhile.

What are you hoping for most: the artist career, everyday celebrity life, more varied fame paths, or the simulation improvements? And please tell me I’m not the only one who wants a beach in Evermont. Leave a purple heart if you’re excited, too.

FAQ

Is the inZOI celebrity DLC free?

I don’t have a confirmed price from Kjun’s response or the information discussed here. I’m not treating the DLC as confirmed free or paid.

When is the celebrity DLC expected to release?

The release aim discussed is December. My guess is toward the end of December, but that’s only my guess—not an announced date.

Is an acting career confirmed?

I think the development-build social clip suggests actors, especially with “Ready for action” and “looking the part.” However, it doesn’t confirm a full acting career, and Kjun only said more activities would be shared later.

Will Evermont have a beach?

Kjun acknowledged that players want beaches, hills, and more nature, but he didn’t confirm a beach. I’d love one, especially because I think it would suit Evermont’s look.

What is on the planned hotfix list?

The list covers duplicate Canvas textures being stored and loaded repeatedly, a camera-aligned light toggle, incorrect portraits, and some crashes. Kjun describes these as planned hotfix work, not fixes already delivered.

What interaction changes are planned?

The team plans longer interactions, autonomy tuned around personality and traits, and the ability to cancel at any time. My favorite detail is the plan for Zoi to resume interactions after interruptions for hunger or a bathroom break.
